This is a call to higher ground in Jesus, where even the carnal nature is removed even though Finney may articulate it somewhat differently. It's a call for victory in the name of Jesus by His blood.
We're called to no longer be at enmity with God, have you confessed your own enmity with God so that He can remove it from your soul?
Have you allowed the love of God to bring enmity against the works of the devil (i.e. sin) in your life? Will you take responsibility for your own behavior?
Has Jesus put you into a place where the core of your heart has been uncovered? That's the place where Jesus will meet us, if we're willing to repent, consecrate and finally surrender all to Jesus.
Jesus wants to give you victory over this buried hatred toward God, but most will not seek after it and try to jam it down their down. We all have this nature handed to us, but Jesus has made the atonement for our sin nature, as well as our sinful deeds.
Have you given over that last fortress of self into the hands of Jesus? Jesus will take it but you must first relinquish all to Him.
