Scriptures Used During Today’s Broadcast: Romans 8, Galatians 1, Galatians 2
We must deal with our enmity with God, remember Hebrews 12:14. The broadcasts this week have reflected the views of Charles Finney, who did not believe in original sin, also referred to as the “old man”, carnal mind, etc. (I apologize for rebroadcasting these broadcasts without that explanation.) His views are very unique and contrary to those of John Wesley and many others, who believed this passage refers to sanctification.
Wesley taught that if you were converted, you had the power to live “above sin” even though the Adamic nature was still present. Removal of this nature was called “entire sanctification”. Today’s message is contrary to that in some respects, from the unique views of Charles Finney and Pelagianism.
