Practically, this means seeking first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and trusting Jesus to give you exactly what he wants you to have. Have you left the abuse of the devil and entered this blessed rest of Jesus?
Your salvation depends on obeying and submitting to what the Holy Spirit speaks to your heart. Jesus said, "My sheep always heed My voice, and I know them, and they always follow Me" (John 10:27).
Will you let Jesus sign the executive orders to release the Holy Spirit in your heart and block everything that stands in the way of your sanctification?
Like these early Christians, many in the modern American church, as well as much of the western world, have had the fire of God in their hearts diluted by the ice water of the responsibilities of life and pursuit of prosperity.
