Scriptures Referenced During Today’s Broadcast: 1 Samuel 7
On today’s Pilgrim’s Progress, Pastor Ray walks us through the story in 1 Samuel. We see that God’s judgment had already begin to fall upon the Israelites, but Samuel told them following:
“If you are returning to the LORD with all your hearts, then rid yourselves of the foreign gods and Ashtoreths among you, prepare your hearts for the LORD, and serve Him only. And He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”

If we’re willing to follow this same path, the Lord will bring deliverance from the hand of the Philistines (that’s true corporately and individually). Pastor Ray provides an excellent definition of idols, which we’ve incorporated into a “short” which will prove useful to you. We must leave all the idols, which are rampant, even in the modern-day church.
