Why is Love so Hard?

Pastor Ray focuses today on the wonderful gift of love from God. It's not sloppy or sentimental, nor does it have strings of expectations but it's real.

Scriptures Used During Today’s Broadcast: 1 Corinthians 13, 1 John 4, 1 John 3

Pastor Ray begins today’s broadcast by reading the love chapter, which most of you know as 1 Corinthians 13. What makes love so difficult is it that it’s too hard for us to do? Consider the quote below from Pastor Ray:

I’m saying to you today that love comes at a price, and the price of love is my ego. My self-love gets in the way of my loving anybody else. My wants and my desires seem to float to the top and be paramount, i.e., my wife should act this way, my children should act this way.

Demands, expectations, that’s not love.

Pastor Ray during today’s broadcast

An inability to love is simply an unwillingness to humble our hearts before one another. In short, it’s our pride. Are you willing to humble your heart before Jesus and one another? We call that repentance; it’s a wonderful gift from the heart of Jesus.
