Jesus’ purpose is the redemption of mankind. He came to divide sin and righteousness. He didn’t come to be a loving, kind, socially acceptable person with no testimony of godliness. The complete Jesus walked in obedience to God and laid down his life to save others from sin and hell.
Likewise, the complete Christian doesn’t live a righteous, monastic life. Instead, the complete Christian lives a righteous life and takes up the yoke of Jesus–which is the work of saving souls. This work brings rest to the soul!
