Giving Up the Place of an Egyptian (2009 Sermon)

God is calling for a people who walked like Jesus walked, not those who have all the answers. Are you willing to give up the place of an Egyptian (equated to a worldly person)?

Scriptures Used During Today’s Broadcast: Exodus 2, Acts 7 (Stephen’s sermon), 1 John 1, 1 John 2

On today’s Pilgrim’s Progress, Pastor Ray walks us through the life of Moses. God sent Moses to the desert to prepare his heart for His purpose, and, Moses spent 40 years in the desert being refined and transformed. He had to be transformed into a Hebrew shepherd.

This is God’s way for many of us, who needed to be emptied of our pride and our great American heritage. (There’s also a simple explanation of Jesus being made into sin, a common misunderstanding in our view.)

He connects this story to our great need for entire sanctification and explains the Hebrew couplets found in the Epistle of 1 John (something we encourage you to listen closely to). We will allow Jesus to take us through this great work of transformation that He has called us to? Will you give up everything into the hands of Jesus?
