Don’t Flinch (2006 Sermon)

Pastor Ray connects sanctification in with the parable of the sower. This sanctification is something that only God can do in us.

Scriptures Used During Today’s Sermon: Luke 8, Romans 10:14-17, Mark 11:22-25, Isaiah 28:16, Jeremiah 42 (waiting in prayer), 1 John 5:14-15, 1 Thessalonians 4:3, Romans 12:1-2,

Pastor Ray begins today’s message by walking through the four soils in the Parable of the Sower. Which type of soil represents you? The focus of this message is on the last soil mentioned by Jesus.

Then Jesus said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? Then how will you understand any of the parables?

Mark 4:13 – Berean Study Bible

Pastor Ray then walks us through his understanding of the verse included below. Most of the American church, including us, have been unwilling to wait and have been in a hurry for revival to come. The Lord is teaching us to wait upon Him and not be in a hurry because this is a work that only Jesus can do.

therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner -‘stone of sure foundation: he that believeth shall not be in haste (emphasis added by Brother Ed).

Isaiah 28:16 – American Standard Version of the Bible

Finally, he walks us through the three-step process of sanctification. Will you trust Jesus to do this work in you? It’s an amazing message that will draw your heart to Jesus, will you let Him do that?
