Boaz Marries Ruth

Scriptures Used During Today’s Message: Ruth 3, Ruth 4, 1 John 2:15-17

Pastor Ray walks us through what became the wonderful love story of Ruth and Boaz and contrasts that to the wickedness of our day where we no longer heed the demands of scripture. Many avoid the issue of marriage altogether by “shacking up” to get what they want and simply become roommates. Others get married but call one another names or try to demean each other. None of these modern methods create a model marriage akin to our marriage (i.e., the church) with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It’s simply not possible to be the ungodly bride or groom and to be the bride of Christ at the same time.

What does the evidence in your life reflect (assuming you are married or living with someone? The scriptures are clear that fornication is a damning sin if not repented of and forsaken (Here are a few scriptures that say that: Hebrews 13:4, Galatians 5:19-21, Revelation 21:8, Colossians 3:5, Matthew 15:19 – There are many more, this is just a smattering of what’s there.) It’s time to grow up and be mature men and women of God and throw off everything wicked and tawdry, Jesus is coming!
