The lie of declared righteousness typifies the lukewarm, modern-day Laodicean church in America. However, our risen Lord makes it very clear that only those who are truly righteous, and have left wickedness, will have the right to drink of the water of life. We must cut off those things in our life that allow us to be comforted in our sin. Only then will we enter into the desert, where we learn to depend on Jesus as our only source of life.
