Pastor Ray exposes much of the idolatry in the modern church today, first with the communion and the eucharist, using these things as a substitute for intimacy with Jesus (that’s why they’re idols). This intimacy comes only as we’re fully given to Jesus and we’re crucified with Him, not by any rituals, even things that the Lord wants us to do (such as prayer, scripture study, etc.).

Let’s not kid ourselves, there is no real intimacy with Jesus, unless we’re fully given to Him. Give your life into the hands of Jesus, and be done with anything that would be a cheap substitute for intimacy with Jesus.
