Scriptures and other references Used During Today’s Broadcast: Romans 8, 1 Kings 18, 1 John 1, Detailed testimony of Pastor Ray
Pastor Ray begins the message by talking about mysticism, which has devolved into things like artificial intelligence and virtual reality; in fact, many believe things that have no basis in reality whatsoever. In addition, it’s easy for us to get sidetracked in our walk with Jesus by our emotions, but Pastor Ray brings us back to reality by focusing on what the Word of God teaches. The lure of these lies is to believe that we are somehow righteous, even while walking in known sin. It’s gnosticism rearing its ugly head again in the church.
Many have lost the traditional view that God is the one over all and the creator of us all, and that somehow God doesn’t really know who we are and what we do. He’s not omnipotent and omnipresent.
Pastor Ray contrasts the mystical way of dealing with sin and the scriptural way. The scriptural cure requires confession (i.e., agreement with God) expressed in repentance and submission to God (See 1 John 1). There is real victory in Jesus as Pastor Ray expresses this in his personal testimony.
