Here’s a definition of contempt from the Free Dictionary: the attitude or feeling of a person towards a person or thing that he or she considers worthless or despicable; scorn.
Pastor Ray outlines some of the ways we can show contempt for Jesus, as described in the book of Malachi. The simplest way to explain this is to see a marked difference between what we say and what we do. We can say we love Jesus and refuse to take up our cross and follow Jesus. Are you despising Jesus by saying yes, I want to follow you, Jesus, but you’re following your own course?
