Sources/Scriptures Used During the Broadcast: He Offered Himself or Priestly-Sacrificial Atonement by Dr. Malcolm Lavender (a Greek scholar and author of the Lavender New Testament, with many scripture references)
Pastor Ray walks through a significant amount of research and revelation by our beloved Pastor Malcolm Lavender and his precious son, Russ. One of the pillars of the sinning Christian theology is this theological error. Jesus did not become sin; rather, He became our priestly-sacrificial atonement. The concept of a substitutional or vicarious atonement was absent from the church until early in the 12th century. I thought this short quote summed up this exhaustive work quite well:
The predictive nominative construction is the Divine declarative that Christ is the All-Sufficient One. It means that Atonement is Who Christ is and what He did; Atonement is not what was done to Christ, it is what He did as Priest and Sacrifice when He offered himself.

There’s much to sift through during today’s message, and it would be worthwhile to get the book cited above, if you can find it.
