Breaking the Lies of satan (2008 Sermon)

Scriptures Used During Today’s Message: Ephesians 2 (indirectly referenced), 1 John 2:4-6, Genesis 3, Luke 8

On today’s Pilgrim’s Progress, Pastor Ray exposes the lies of satan, that bring such utter despair and discouragement to our hearts. We’ve believed the lie that God is out to steal from us, despite what the scriptures say (See John 10:10, for example).

Today, Jesus wants to set you free from whatever lies you have believed from the enemy. We normally can’t get free without getting angry at the devil, for believing the lies he has sown in our hearts. I’ll finish this with a powerful quote from the message.

Are you willing to ask the Lord to break these lies that we have held in our heart against Jesus? And are you willing to take specific and concrete action to cast aside these lies of Satan and stand in the bear before God and believe that he loves you, that he has the best in mind for you? Are you willing to say, Jesus, I can’t do it, but I’m asking you to do this work in my heart by the blood? Do you need a work of God done in your heart to break these lies that Satan has kept you bound with?
