“Who is my neighbor?” Some of us ask this question in response to Jesus' teaching to love our neighbor as ourselves. Through the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus turns this question around. Instead of asking, “Who is my neighbor?”–that is, who am I to love?–Jesus tells us to be the neighbor.
Though we may begin as the injured man, once we find healing in Jesus we can go and help others who are injured and suffering. The church, like the innkeeper, is the safe, loving, nurturing community where those we bring can be restored.
Pastor Ray and Alexandra share some very practical ways that we can be prepared to be a neighbor to those we meet–expectedly and unexpectedly–throughout the week.
