About Us

Who is the National Prayer Chapel?

We are a small non-denominational holiness Pentecostal house church in Northern Virginia (about 30 miles South of Washington DC in Woodbridge). Our mailing address is 5009 Softwood Lane, Woodbridge Virginia 22195.

We’re about 10 minutes off of I-95 in Dale City, Virginia (just sourh of Woodbridge).

  • Our Pastor is Ray Greenley. Pastor Ray has been a pastor for over 50 years.
  • The primary mission and focus of our ministry is a call to revival and reformation through repentance and the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
  • Our focus is NOT to build a church, as one would build a business.
  • The church began meeting in 1998.
  • We’ve provided some more detailed information below.

What We Believe

Our Church Doctrines

About god and the word of god

  • The Bible is the inspired and only infallible word of God.
  • There is one true God, eternally existent in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

About Jesus and the Holy spirit

  • In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His priestly sacrificial atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal fture return to the earth in ower and glory to rule for a thousand years.
  • In the blessed hope, the visible and public rapture of the church at Christ’s second coming.
  • The baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.

About Man and the Church

  • In the fall and sinfulness of man and that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ.
  • Divine healing is available through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross.
  • The church of Jesus Christ is the universal, spiritual body of believers from every tribe, tongue, kindred, and race of peoples, and is indwelt by god through the holy spirit and divinely empowered to fulfill ministry and her great commission on earth.8.
  • In the resurrection and final judgment of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.
  • Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential to personal salvation.
  • In the sanctifying power of the holy spirit by whose indwelling the christian is empowered to live a holy life.
  • In entire sanctification, a second work of grace wrought by the spirit of god through faith in jesus christ, that produces perfect love for god and man, completely removes the sinful nature, and establishes the child of god in a state of true holiness and heart purity.

What to Expect if You Visit Us

  • There is always a confrontation with sin. The wages of sin are always death and Jesus has provided a means of escape through repentance and faith in His blood. sin must be dealt with quickly through amputation.
  • Our services are two hours or so, we don’t punch a clock, so we’re finished when we’re finished. our focus is on prayer and the scriptures and we don’t follow a set format.
  • We recommend at least casual attire, no jeans, shorts. It’s a serious thing to come into the presence of God and your attire and mine reflect our attitude toward God. There’s no dress code but a sobriety before a holy God is needed.
  • Given that we have a small congregation, we’re unable to provide childcare services.

The Great Commission

This is one of the most important commandments in all of scripture. This is our mission, both individual and corporately, to seek to bring others into the kingdom of God.

Here is what Jesus said,

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Matthew 28:19-20
