Scriptural Pentecost and the Early Pentecostal Movement
Is the baptism of the Holy Spirit speaking a few syllables that I don’t understand? What about a personal prayer language? Did I receive the Holy Spirit baptism at conversion? Is there a difference between entire sanctification and the baptism of the Holy Spirit? If I don’t speak in tongues, does that mean I’m not baptized in the Holy Spirit?
Ray and Alexandra seek to dispel the confusion on this subject. First, we look at what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit baptism. Second, we address common blocks to receiving a personal Pentecost. Third, we begin a study of William Seymour and the beginning of the Pentecostal movement. Along with Scripture, this history is essential in sorting out the true and false baptisms in the Holy Spirit.
Join us again tomorrow as we delve deeper into the history of the Azusa Street revival. We will also identify the splits that destroyed the revival and which persist in our churches today!
