A powerful revival swept through the Hebrides in 1949-1952. Bars closed because all their patrons were converted. Magistrates had no court cases to hear, because all the criminals got right with God. So many were eager to pay off old debts that the post offices ran out of money orders. At sea, in homes, at work, in the fields, and in all hours of the night, sinners came under horrible conviction of sin and surrendered to Jesus. Everybody knew, “God is here. This is revival!” As word spread, Christians around the world rose to the challenge to beseech God for a revival where they lived.
Today, this challenge remains to be tested. Do you truly believe that God is a covenant-keeping God? Do you know with certainty that if you keep your end of the covenant, God will keep his? May this reading of Reverend Owen Murphy's book, and Pastor Ray's prayers, prompt you to take up this challenge!
