The Kentucky Revival

The Kentucky Revival

In 1800, deism and Calvinism had infiltrated the Kentucky churches. They were powerless, dead, and filled with sin. In answer to prayer, God sent tremendous convicting, slaying, saving, and sanctifying power. The Kentucky revival lasted about a year. Most notably, in the 20,000+ person Cane Ridge revival meeting, at least 3,000 people literally fell under the power of God as if they were dead. Then they arose after hours, or sometimes days, rejoicing in full salvation or crying out for mercy. Moreover, God powerfully used children as preachers in this revival.
