God intends for Christians to live in a continual state of consecration, free from legal bondage. This includes continual growth, rejoicing, and love in the Holy Ghost. And, like the widow with a pot of oil, God will multiply everything you give him. Thus, God’s kingdom will advance. When this consecration is made, the Holy Spirit can move from being “with” a Christian to being “in” a Christian (John 14).
This baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire accomplishes two things. First, it entirely removes depraved inward tendencies to sin. These tendencies embarrass the soul and hinder its usefulness for God. Second, the baptism empowers the Christian for service.
Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?
