The gospels record many responses to encounters with Jesus. Some, like Peter's mother-in-law, respond to Jesus' touch by serving him. Others, like Simon the Pharisee, appear to respond well initially, but later show contempt for a fellow believer.
These responses offer a place of self-examination for each of us. Have we responded to Jesus by reaching out and loving others?
